Besant Nagar Apartment

This 2,650 sq ft apartment in Besant Nagar was completed in 2023. The clients are a retired couple who wanted the space to read as a single quiet room until guests arrived. We took down four interior walls and replaced them with a single sliding panel that closes off the bedroom wing.

Daylight enters from two sides; the western face is shaded by a planted balcony that doubles as a private garden. Floors are end-grain teak. Built-in storage runs the length of the north wall, ending at a reading nook tucked into the bay window.
